The Holidays Are OVER.

The holidays are over. I'm not sure how I feel about it. With all the talk of New Year's resolutions it's real easy to get super pumped about 2018 and all the awesome new things I'm going to do.
How much better I'm going to be at working out.
How I'm going to eat better.
How I'm going to use my time more wisely.
More likely than not I'm going to end up failing at some point and looking a lot like Aria in this Santa picture.
Confidence goes down the pooper.
I strive so hard to live a healthy, natural, minimalist lifestyle. Many times I do really well. I make my own shampoo. I buy all natural deodorant. I'm eating more kale. I had a natural birth. (I plan on having individual posts on all these eventually!)
But you know what? I'm human.
I'm guessing you are too.
Today I start a journey to a more "crunchy" lifestyle. All-natural, organic, nature, granola...all the things.
But I promise you there will be days that I will come home with Reese's cups and a Dr. Pepper.
I plan on telling you all about those days too. And you know what?! We love those days just as much.
My New Year's resolution this year is simple...SIMPLE!
I want this year to be filled with a yearning to do better, but a freedom to have fun.
Eat the kale. Eat the cookie. Be happy. Be healthy.

We live in Alabama, so the scene to the left is far from our reality here.
Currently the weather is close to freezing so the schools are delayed. You know...in case it gets too cold to function. There is no snow in the forecast. It just might be cold. Welcome to Alabama.
Now that Christmas is over we find ourselves in what I call "Winter confusion phase." It's cold but there is nothing fun anymore, so what's the point of the cold.
I AM excited to use some of the awesome gifts I got for Christmas!
I FINALLY got an essential oil diffuser (thank you sister-in-law). I've wanted one of these for forever. I don't know why I never bought one. Today I had a pretty nasty headache so I put a few drops of peppermint in the ole' diffuser and BOOM...headache gone. I really want to dive into the oils and be more knowledgeable on their uses. Let me know if you have any go-to oils that make a big impact!
Another gift we got I feel is possibly the opposite of minimilist, but it's really cool, so I'm excited. We got an Amazon Echo and Alexa is pretty fun. I've been having fun getting nearly every question wrong at Jeopardy and realizing how little I know about geography at World Detective. But we got some Alexa-controlled dimming lights for our living room, so it's a win.
I'm looking forward to what this year holds. Read. Subscribe. Be scrunchy with me.
With love,
Lauren
